Biography

Prof. Dr. Shou-Qing Ni is currently a Professor at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shandong University. He was a Visiting Professor at Iowa State University and University of Hawaii. His research topics include Environmental microbiology; Biological wastewater treatment, especially biological nutrients removal (BNR); Interspecific and intracellular electron transport process; Environmental applications of micro-and nano-materials, and their interaction with biological processes. He is the autho of more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles in the Water Research, ES&T, ACS ES&T Water, ACS ES&T Engineering, npj Clean Water, etc..

Prof. Dr. Shou-Qing Ni has been awarded the academician of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Shennong Young Talent from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, Taishan Young Scholar from Shandong Province, Overseas Students Return to China Entrepreneurship Award from the Shandong Province, High-end Talent of Shandong Provincial Think Tank and Excellent Scientific and Technological Workers in Shandong Province. He received the Innovation Award for Industry University Research Cooperation from the China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association, the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from the Shandong Province, the second prize of Science and Technology Innovation Award from the China Society for the Promotion of Science and Technology Commercialization, the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award from the China National Light Industry Council, the first prize of Science and Technology Award from the Department of Education of Shandong Province.

He serves as a guest editor for the Science of the Total Environment, Environmental Science and Pollution Research, CLEAN-Soil, Air, Water, Energies. He is also the editorial board member of Environmental Technology & Innovation, Energies, iMeta, Carbon Research, Frontiers in Environmental Microbiology, Journal of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences, etc. He is the Chairman of the 11th Joint Workshop on Advanced Engineering Technology for Environment and Energy, the scientific committee and session chair of International Anammox Symposium, International Symposium on Water Pollution and Treatment, International Conference on Water Resource and Environment, etc.

He is the council member of the China Ecological Civilization Research and Promotion Association, Industrial Ecology and Technology Special Committee of China Ecological Economics Society, Equipment & Environmental Chapter of China Biotech Fermentation Industry Association, Shandong Science and Technology Management Research Association, Shandong Sustainable Development Research Association, etc. Dr. Ni also serves as Director of Shandong Representative Office of China Ecological Civilization Research and Promotion Association, Director of Blue Carbon Special Committee of China Electronic Energy Saving Technology Association, Deputy Director of the Expert Committee of Shandong Cleaner Production Association, Deputy Director of Solid Waste Recycling Expert Committee of Shandong Ceramic Association.
